The sharpie on paper was an assignment for my drawing 1 class. The objective was to create layers in our drawing. I decided to do a tribal pattern with pictographs on top of the pattern. Then, our next assignment was a final project of our choice which included adding on to the layers assignment. I thought it would be cool to start negative and add in the positive by scratching off a layer so I experimented with scratchboard.
